ABOUT TEDDI

It's crazy to say that I've been blogging since 2008 (and even crazier that I'm still here doing it). In my early- and mid-twenties, I was overweight, unhappy, and painfully uncomfortable in my own skin. (Those of you who go back with me, you know what I'm talking about!) One day I woke up and I decided that I didn't want to live that way anymore. I knew something had to change. I decided to educate myself like crazy to learn how to improve my quality of life. 

In 2014, I was working as a freelance health and fitness writer, interviewing various experts in the field for articles I was working on. That same year, I lost my mom somewhat suddenly to cancer. She fought so hard, and and the quick deterioration of her health is a constant reminder to me that we must make the most of every single day we are lucky enough to have on this earth. Even though I've fancied myself a writer ever since I was able to hold a crayon, my mom's passing left me with the urge to do something more. I decided to go back to school, and became a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition

IIN only fueled my hunger for more credibility in the wellness world. Shortly after receiving my health coach certificate I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Loss Specialist via the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am also a Pre & Post Natal Trainer via the Equinox Fitness Training Institute

When I'm not training my lovely clients or working on my own fitness, I'm spending time with my wonderful husband, our rescue dog, Winnie, and my fantastic family and friends. Despite loss and tragedy, I consider myself incredibly fortunate and count my blessings every single day. I take nothing for granted.

I use this site as a platform to bring awareness to wellness in a way that I feel (and I hope you do, too) is approachable. I believe in challenging myself to live each day better and brighter than the one before. I believe that health and achieving balance is a lifelong journey, not a destination. I strive to live by my the motto, "Go the extra mile; it's never crowded."

Many of you have been reading this little ol' blog since the beginning, and I want express how grateful I am to you especially for your continued kindness and encouragement. You've been through a lot with me: from heartache to head-over-heels, from sluggish to certified personal trainer, from profound sorrow to sublime happiness. This tiny corner of the internet has been a beacon of love and support for me and for that I am truly thankful and forever indebted.

I have always been and will always be committed to keeping this space candid and heartfelt for as long as it's around. You'll see everything here from healthy meal ideas and workout tips to fun fashion finds and deeply personal mini-essays. This is at my very core who I am: passionate, eager, sometimes a little bit scatterbrained, perhaps a bit naive, but always well-intentioned.
