Happy Wednesday! Time for another edition of What I Ate Wednesday, in which I link up with other bloggers via Peas & Crayons to chronicle a day of eats. I keep track of everything I eat on Tuesday, and then I talk about it on Wednesday. It's a little tradition I've come to love.
Yesterday kicked off with breakfast on the go. I enjoyed a soy latte from Starbucks and a tumbler of Gluten Free Rice Chex with almond milk.
Side note: do you have a favorite brand when it comes to non-dairy milks? I'm kind of an almond milk whore. I buy whatever's on sale.
That combo kept me full for an impressive amount of time, but late morning, I wanted a little something before my workout. Ease was the goal, so I went for cottage cheese and a new favorite, raincoast crisps. These are so incredibly delicious. Crispy yet soft. I found mine at Whole Foods.
After a KILLER spin class, I thought I'd be in the mood for a big chopped salad, and I kind of was, but I didn't have the time, the patience, the satiety or the ingredients to make that happened. So I settled for my regular smoothie (almond milk, almond butter, frozen coconut milk, kale, banana, cacao nibs) which I downed before I could even stop to take a photo, and more raincoast crisps with some salami. I don't eat beef, pork, ham, steak... the list goes on... but salami is the one red meat I cannot seem to quit. (Insert "that's what she said" joke here.)
A little while later, a Nature's Bakery apple cinnamon fig bar.
Dinner was at Quality Italian for my fiancé's birthday. Sorry about these next few photos... the restaurant was very dark. I started off with this gorgeous gin concoction. I've seen latte art, but this was my first encounter with cocktail art.
I had a little caesar salad and about half of this fusilli alla Norma (pasta with eggplant, tomatoes, and ricotta). I'm having the rest for lunch today. Delish.
Dessert was this chocolate olive oil cake. I LOVE olive oil based desserts and was so excited to see this one on the menu. Unfortunately it was really lackluster and disappointing, so I just had a few bites.
