A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT

I had every intention of posting yesterday and even linking up with Healthy Diva Eats for her "Marvelous in my Monday" series, but the truth is that I'm just really tired.

Physically, emotionally, mentally exhausted. I'm coming up on the six month anniversary of my mom's death and I don't feel like doing anything. I'd like to just stay in bed for awhile. But I'm making myself work and workout and study and engage. I may be going through the motions, but at least I'm moving. 

Right?

So I'm a day late and a dollar short with this post that was totally supposed to go up yesterday, but there's always next Monday.

This week kind of sucks thus far, but my weekend was nice. A good mix of summer (beach) and fall. I went apple picking for the first time and I have to say it really wasn't what I expected. It was an activity I had romanticized in my head... I pictured myself in plaid, riding boots and a scarf, a crisp breeze, latte in hand... In reality, the sun was beating down, I was sweating bullets (in a dress), many of the bushes were picked clean, and the grounds were covered in mealy apples that were absolutely swarmed with bees. And I was in flip flops. And I am terrified of bees. (I'm terrified of any and all insects with wings, really. Birds too.) Luckily the bees were more interested in the apples than me, but all in all, not really the fall bucket list item I'd imagined.

Oh. And now my left foot and right ankle are covered in bites.

Oh well. I also did a little fall shopping this weekend... I got a Soft Joie plaid shirt and picked up some sweaters at LOFT. (They're 40% off right now - no code needed!)
