COLD WEATHER MOTIVATION & FAVORITE FINDS FOR JANUARY

Happy Wednesday! How is your week going?

I feel like I have a lot to get done but this weather isn't making anything easy. I've been somewhat productive but it's tough. How do you stay motivated in the cold? The promise of a hot latte at Starbucks always gets me where I need to be. During the week, I usually toss a packet of instant oatmeal into my tote so that I'm guaranteed a hot, hearty breakfast when I get to work. (Sometimes if I don't have oatmeal on me, I get it from Starbucks and ask them to give it to me dry. This way I can fill it with hot water when I'm ready to eat it, which usually isn't until an hour or two after I've had my coffee. I like to wait until I'm truly hungry, which is always later than I think it'll be.)

And, come on. Shopping for new winter duds and accessories is always motivation.

I discovered a few great things this month that I wanted to share. These things have been keeping me warm and brightening my mood.

1. Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint in Budding Blossom. I bought this on a whim. I'm curating the perfect gym bag cosmetic case and wanted a one-stop lip product: moisture AND color. I can't get enough of the former in this relentless winter. The Chubby Stick is a tinted balm that's also a bit like a stain. It's quick to apply (no mirror necessary) and truly stays put. I only wish it came in more than four shades!

2. Beyond Yoga Go-To Relaxed Pullover. This is literally the softest thing I own. It's like a cozy little heat trap. If you're familiar with BY, you know that their materials are incredible plush and lux. This sweatshirt is no exception. I reach for it at least twice a week.

3. MZ Wallace Medium Metro Floral Quilted Tote. My (early) Valentines gift from my dad! It's lightweight and sturdy, making it a perfect work and gym tote. Love it for travel, too. And I'm crazy about the print - even though it's a little loud, somehow it's versatile enough to go with a lot of (if not most of) the clothing I own.

4. Nicepipes leg warmers. I discovered Nicepipes because the founder is a friend of a friend, and when I heard about this product I a) kicked myself for not thinking of it first and b) couldn't wait to get my hands on a pair. Nicepipes are sleek leg warmers that slide seamlessly over your favorite workout capris. This way you can spin (or down dog) in cropped leggings without worrying about cold ankles on your walk to and from the studio. Game-changing.
