48 HOURS IN FLORIDA

On Friday morning, my dad, sister and I hit the road (er, air) to spend Passover and the weekend with my aunt, uncle and Nana. It was a quick trip but one that was very much enjoyed - and needed.

We had a traditional Seder on Friday night. I usually loathe this meal but between catering from Morton's and my aunt's amazing baked goods and desserts, this was one of the best Passover dinners I've ever had.

This photo cracks me up. Soooo awkward. #nana

Saturday morning, I was up bright and early for 8:15am Pure Barre. I started taking Pure Barre on and off almost exactly a year ago (it served as a great mental escape for me after my mom passed) and this particular class was really gratifying because I could definitely see how far I've come, physically, since then. I felt strong and proud. And I finally got my "Bride To Be" grippy socks, too!

We spend the rest of the day lunching, shopping, and enjoying the weather. I've gotten rid of a LOT of clothes in the past year and I took advantage of some good deals this weekend to build my wardrobe back up. I scored awesome sandals (these are similar to what I'm wearing in the photo below - and they are INSANELY comfortable); some Zella goodness (I went in for this tank - which I own and love and was hoping to get in another color but they didn't have my size); this maxi dress (it's on major sale today) and another pair of this tank and shorts set that I've been living (well, sleeping) in. It was fun to do a little spring shopping, even though the season hasn't quite landed in Manhattan yet... Spring has officially sprung in Southwest Florida.

Saturday night, we had dinner at The Capital Grille. I had walked by the NYC location hundreds of times but had never actually eaten there until Saturday. It was wonderful! We'd alerted the restaurant ahead of time that we are observing Passover, so they had matzos waiting for us on the table when we arrived, which was a lovely, thoughtful touch. We feasted on delicious proteins and veggie sides. I topped off my meal with the most delightful creme brulee. #passoversafeyall

Coming home to NYC was a bit of a bummer - trips to Florida always go by way too quickly - but the blow was softened by this slightly warmer weather we're experiencing this week.

Hope you had a great weekend! See you soon with an A M A Z I N G giveaway.
