Happy Hump Day! Whoa, it's been a while since I've written one of these. But I got the urge, so here ya go! You might have surmised from the title that I am going bread-free this week. And just for shits and giggles, I thought I might as well go cheese-free while I'm at it. (With the exception of cottage cheese you see below.) I've been feeling a bit bloated/Marshmallow Woman-esque for the past weeks and I know from experience that eliminating bread helps. Not so sure about the whole cheese thing (#IllMissYou) but I shall report back with my findings.

Onto my Tuesday of eats...

6:55am: Ice water & a grande unsweetened iced coffee with So Delicious Dairy Free French Vanilla Coconut Milk Coffee Creamer. Wow, that's a mouthful. A delicious mouthful. I start most mornings with a brisk walk that ends at Starbucks. It's a nice way to wake up.

8:15am: Cottage cheese. This is the cheese I'm making an exception for because one serving packs 10 grams of protein, and also because, well, I just love it. When I'm in the mood for something savory in the morning, this always hits the spot.

10:45am(ish)Banana & almond butter. Most mornings, I eat my full breakfast over the span of a few hours. Grazing works well for me. This pair is an easy go-to. It's relatively cheap, portable, and requires no preparation (except if you like to chop it up and eat it with a fork like I do). My dad picked up a whole sleeve of these Justin's packets for me at Target. I used to buy the smaller 80-calorie packs but I'm not sure if they still make those... I haven't seen them in awhile.


1pm: Chop't salad. This is where eliminating cheese and bread from my diet hurts a little bit! I always ask for a half-serving of cheese in my salad, and I love the whole wheat flatbread served at Chop't, but today I passed on both. My salad had spinach, grape tomatoes, carrots, hard boiled egg whites, chickpeas and dried cranberries... dijon vinaigrette on the side. I ate about 2/3 and stashed the rest in the fridge. (P.S. When I said "no thanks" to bread and made a sad face, the lovely Chop't associate told me that their flat bread has no yeast and does not make you bloat. I still said no but appreciated her offering the info.)

3:15pm: My favorite blueberry smoothie. I lightened it up a bit by skipping the coconut sugar, using unsweetened almond milk instead of coconut water and Tru-Nut Powdered Peanut Butter in place of creamy almond butter. (45 calories a serving vs. 150-200, if you're wondering.) It wasn't quite as delicious as the original version, but it was still a yummy pre-workout snack, with a side of current wedding inspo.

6:45pm: Post-workout snack. I took my first Tabata class in months, which in hindsight might not have been my brightest idea. I don't know that it was necessary for me to come outta the gates, HIIT guns blazing on Day 1 of Bread Free Life. It was a killer workout and I felt pretty dizzy rolling around the market afterward. This Health Warrior Chia Bar never tasted so good.

8:10pm: Dinner! I was in the mood for something simple, so I made Applegate turkey burgers, Whole Foods brand sweet potato fries and roasted mushrooms with truffle oil. Nothing special, but it hit the spot.

8:59pm: Sweets. I ended my day with a little TV, a glass of milk and two pieces of this dark chocolate sea salt English toffee. I impulse purchased it when I was waiting in line at Whole Foods and it is SO. GOOD.
