WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY 15: GETTING BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS

Happy July! Where does the time go? With the summer days absolutely flying by and my wedding quickly approaching, my focus is on eating with an emphasis on produce and proteins and a de-emphasis, if you will, on grains and dairy. All I can think about these days is my wedding dress.

I was watching Rich Kids of Beverly Hills recently and there's a scene where recently engaged Morgan and her mom go to Badgley Mischka and Morgan tries on dresses while her mom watches and cries. I sadly never had and will never have that moment with my mom. I haven't written much about my wedding plans on here because there's really no point - that's not what you're coming here to read about - but obtaining the dress has undoubtedly been the toughest part of this whole process, as I'd predicted it be. I always imagined shopping for my dress with my mom, and doing it on my own was... well, I'll just say I'm glad it's over.

Nonetheless, I have the dress and I wholeheartedly believe she'd absolutely love it. I think my parents always pictured me wearing Vera Wang on my wedding day - come to think of it, so did I - and I'm actually not, but I know the silhouette, the fabrics and the overall feel of the dress is exactly what we all dreamed I'd walk down the aisle in.

All of this to say - I haven't had my fittings yet but they are forthcoming and my focus is very much on looking and feeling my absolute best in that dress. So here's what I ate yesterday. :)

6:45 a.m. Starbucks Cold Brew with Organic Valley French Vanilla Soy Creamer. Always a good way to start my day.

9:30 a.m. Grain-free banana bread with blueberries, almond butter and 2 TBSP flax seed.  Not the prettiest breakfast but it's incredibly satisfying, not to mention delish.

1:00 p.m. Grilled chicken atop baby spinach with rainbow carrots, dried cranberries and pepitas. I love that breakfast kept me full enough until lunchtime - no need for a midmorning snack!

Followed by an apple

4:30 p.m.  Mr. Greengenes from Juice Generation after an hour of personal training. I earned it! I love that Juice Gen now asks you whether or not you want sweetener added to your smoothie instead of adding it in automatically. (I opted for no sweetener.)

7:00 p.m. A spoonful of almond butter. The hunger monster struck before it was time to make dinner. (Forgot to take a photo but I know you'll forgive me.)

8:30 p.m. Half a turkey burger, sweet potato fries and sauteed mushrooms. I accidentally overcooked my burger which is why I only ate half, but it was nice to be able to sit down to dinner with my fiancé after a long day. Man, this is a hideous looking dinner. What I'm making tonight is soooo much prettier. Oh well.

9:00 p.m. Raspberry-pomegranate sorbet with NSA dark polar bits from 16 Handles. I wasn't planning on eating dessert but my dad asked me to meet him for fro yo and I can never say no to him. :)
